We thought we had abolished slavery, but modern-day slavery exists in the US. Estimates suggest there may be up to 17,500 victims trafficked into the US. As awareness increases, more and more victims are discovered and rescued. Unfortunately few can obtain the necessary shelter and services. Freedom House has opened its first shelter for victims of human trafficking in the San Francisco Area to meet this need.
